What I need and want:

A M&S tire, aggressive tread, studdable, for new winter tires.

Here are my choices to comment on:

Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac ($968.41)

Firestone Destination MT ($947.29)

Trailcutter MT ($842.98)

Kelly Safari TSR ($831.45)

Also Goodyear Wrangler Territory (a CT only goodyear) ($871.41)

Now they are all in my budget, and I realise they aren't exactly normal tires people get for club use.. haha but if you have a truck besides or like me have a DD jeep and might use such tires. or any experience with the brands. I put the prices in case someone knows where i can get them cheaper or any of the dealers on here can give me a better deal. let me know. The prices are installed with all the doodads, tax and studded for 31x10.5R15

I will be using them mostly in the winter, I want to know what you think of the brands, winter traction (they will be studded), tread wear experience, problems, maintenence, issues you've had with them any info, please don't just post "That Sucks" or "Those Rock" but tell me why. you have just tonight to tell me, as I am deciding and buying tomorrow or Saturday

Right now I am swaying between the Duratrac and the destination. but if one of the cheaper ones gets great marks from the club I may change my mind.

Heres some pics of the choices

I know some people that have the duratracs and i've noticed alot of commercial vehicles that are running them for winter, but as for the people I know they say excellent tire.I think i've heard the trailcutters are pretty good to.I know a guy that used to work at costal tire, they specialize in goodyear tires and even though he no longer works there he recommends the duratrac.Myself I think I would go with those as my jeep is a daily driver.Hope this helps ya.

The goodyear duratrac is the only real winter rated tire among your other choices, others look better for mud and dirt.

I have the duratracks on my tundra,,work good and have lasted well since last year.
I have studded trailcutter for the jeep. They work greattt.
I have seen many sets of tsr's on trucks,, they all say they work great but wore quick.( i thought the tsrs were winter rated)

The picture of your trailcutter does not match what i have for a trailcutter either.

I'm no tire expert..but I have the wrangler territory's and like them a lot.

They're really well, price....31's are like 150 bucks right now.

I have the small 235/75/15 on now...and probably putting the 31's on tuesday or Wednesday.

anyone I've talked to likes them a lot.

they're kinda soft...would make them great in the winter.

I have no complaints at all with them and like them enough that I'm going to go with them again.

in person, the tread looks better than in the pics...I find they look a bit more aggressive and more space between the lugs.

I am running GY Wrangler Territory's on my Toyota Tundra, only had them a few weeks, truck handles great on both pavement & dirt with them on... slight howl on the highway but not to bad (of course the Tundra has far more sound insulation then just about any Jeep)

The GY Wrangler MT-R is worth considering as well, I have been running the same set for almost 8 years now!!! Will be retiring them at the end of this month because they have finally hit the wear bars :( Great tire, excellent traction except on ICE

The only one I have personal experience with is the Duratrac. We got them (approx 31x10.5) for my wife's truck last year as winter tires. She could go places with them in 2 where the OEM tires required 4.

They do hum a little on the road but my wife likes a little hum now an then. (!)

I like them so much I'm getting a set for my JKU daily driver when the time comes... I can't believe how well the OEM tires are lasting. 46k on them and they look 1/2 gone.

THey are probably all good tires. But I've run the Duratracs an love them
