Saw this post on the NS site, and thought it would be an awesome topic, especially with so many new names I'm no longer familiar with..
Who was your influence to either get into wheeling or more importantly building your rig?
Heres mine.. No person in particular, it was just the evolution of the sport really that got me.. Gilles Cormier helped me alot in my early days.. Great guy he is!
This is an awesome thread guys.. I'm gonna post up similar in NB if you don't mind. 8o)
as for my influence.. I've always loved Jeeps, Land Cruisers(FJs) and EBs. and as soon as I could afford "something" I went for it. was tired of drivin my old cars. lol.. so on the hunt, couldn't find an EB or FJ that was good enough shape then came the YJ. lol.. man it was purdy sittin on 235s lol and came with a canoe rack and 2 tops.. bout a month later, driving down a dirt road just trailriding looking at the scenery, the center pin dropped out of the carrier and stalled the Jeep lol.. Well Looked for an alternative and swapped in the 8.8(this was about 98 I think), it's been all downhill from there. lol..
Funny, I remember when I was getting ready to do my first SOA and gathering parts, Rico was buildin his and sold me his cross over steer arm. even met me at the toll to help me out.. THAT was awesome! lol.. So long ago. where did the time go..
